Hi cant you ask your mate to come with you for the 1st few locks, work the locks as a solo but he can stay on the boat just in case you get in trouble.
I have had mine a while now and not had 1 complaint rather the opposite have been asked to take photos of other people's boats for them from the air as they move along the canal !!!!
I put this topic up a few weeks ago just for a laugh and god did I get shot down!
But got one and love it and it has come in handy finding moorings and shops etc
dear Mr northernboater
Just to put you in the picture I do have a boat I have had a few of my time and spent a lot of time sailing in the Mediterranean as well as cruising the inland waterways !!!! And it is not my intention to hack other Canal uses off
Hi all need your help I want to get a drone (I know boys and their toys) her who must be obeyed said if I can come up with 5 good reasons we need one I can get one, I can only think of 2.
1, could send it up to find a shop or pub
2, could send it to look around corners to see if there are better mooring or if the lock is free
Can anyone think of any better excuses to get one
Thank Dave
Hi all we are looking at getting a 60x12 wide beam next year I'm selling up and going to become a C/C
I can't leave work till October next year if we could find a moorings near work (Luton Airport) we could get the boat early in the year and get used to her before I retire in October
Would love any help
Dave
We are on the Nene and it's a lovely and quiet river, one thing to remember is there isn't a lot of moorings so plan ahead !! And if we get a lot of rain some bridges are low,
Thanks
they recommend it because we are going to be living on the boat and intend to cruise the waterways all year round so we will have washing machines etc in use, I was thinking solar panels would be better but would they be up to the job ?
Same here Bill and washing machine don't know why she can't use a bucket

Hi all I'm new to this site and this will probably be my 1st of many questions .
We are looking at geting a wide beam boat made and becoming a Constant cruiser next year, at the moment we are looking at the Eurocuiser we have been told we should get a travel power installed at a cost of £3250.00, this seems a lot of money do I really need one ??
Thanks Dave
