Ian Kynaston-Richards
Can anyone help me identify this gearbox and if possible find a source for parts? It was mated to a Petter AVA2 which dates to 1961, so I presume it is of similar vintage. I have seen various similar gearboxes which may come from the Newage/Morris/BMC stable, but I still can't find a definitive identification. Any suggestions gratefully received. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=974019135970373&set=a.262439240461703.60361.100000868860945&type=3&theater Edited November 30, 2015 by Ian Kynaston-Richards

Ian Kynaston-Richards
I was having trouble getting the forum to accept the picture - it doesn't seem to like googledrive! RLWP
Yes, that's one of the BMC boxes. What parts are you looking for? Richard
The Bagdad Boatman (waits)
Are you in Yorkshire? looks like a morris box with the brake band to engage reverce.
Ian Kynaston-Richards
Yes, it does indeed have a brake band for reverse. The main parts i'm hoping to get are a set of clutch plates, as the exisiting ones have very little phosphor bronze left on them. I don't suppose you can pin it down any more than that can you Richard? Are there any specific identifying features?

Ian Kynaston-Richards
I've just been out to measure - the main casing is 9" (228.5mm) front to back and the front of the housing is 11.5" diameter (292mm) Edited November 30, 2015 by Ian Kynaston-Richards
RLWP
I'll measure up what I have here. I have a similar one in the shed, another on a PH2 and a larger one Richard
Tony Brooks
It looks a bit short to me for a BMC B type so I suspect its an A type.

Ian Kynaston-Richards
It might be a bit earlier than the BMC as I uncovered a small logo with MM on it - presumably Morris Marine.
