Dinz
Well the contractors appeared today and the safety fencing is up. They look like they are starting to dam on the 9th. 2/3rds of car park also fenced so parking is VERY limited. Bar & Bistro still open though Note pump out & tap will be inaccessible once dams in place. Edited November 4, 2015 by Dinz

Dinz
The wharf structure is basically washed away below the waterline. Maybe down to boats winding as its circa 50' wide there. When they only get half way and jam up they give it a load on the 'loud pedal' and over time the brickwork has washed away [well sunk to the bottom] So they are damming either side of wharf under brige & past the slipway so as to re-furbish. So slipway will also be out of use. ps at the moment the Elsen is also 'behind' the fence so also may be inaccessible?
Sarahr
I hope trade at the waterfront isn't too compromised by the lack of parking! Most pubs rely on the pre Christmas trade to keep themselves going over the post Christmas dip in business.

Oh Dinz I do hope you are not referring to Moi!!! Where have all the moorers gone? They won't have to move as they are only dewatering from the slipway to the bridge
nipper
Last time i came through there, a few weeks ago, there were 4 boats moored on the water point! and the hotel boat had made himself comfy on the 24hour moorings, where i saw him 3 weeks before!! dmr
I'm sure certain members of the boat club will support as long as the livers hold out! We have just arrived at the Eastern end of the K&A and plan to stay here for a while, but if the bar is going through a bad patch after Christmas then let me know and I will come and help out with the beer drinking. ............Dave

Dinz
Wessex Rose does indeed move. Pewsey is one of the change over points I believe. So they are here every few weeks for a day or so on the 48's Dave.[Vox] Will be good to see you again! Mind you supposedly after Crimbo phase II Starts where the 48's are re-furbished so that boats can get their arses nearer than 6ft from the bank and the rings don't fall in the cut when used. Mind you the 14 dayers are likely to be untouched I expect. As usual all comments and timeframes are the product of chinese whispers and the stuff of dreams. MtB
Maybe he stops there overnight every three weeks, or even every week. That'll be it! Reminds me of the apocryphal conversation: "That bloke over there in the corner is always in this pub..." "And how would you know that, then?" Dinz
Well the dams have gone & so have the contractors. Full of water again. Dunno if officially open for Navigation yet. Maybe needs time to settle or for CaRT to approve?
