It's not a stoppage but a slowage, especially if you arrive at lunchtime.

due to the old sluice being converted into a hydro electric power source, there are currently large works taking place on the lock island.

This means a bridge us being used over the upper lock cut.

You may have to wait for deliveries to take place and also may not be able to get it moved over lunchtime.

It takes about 20 minutes to prepare it for moving and 10 to move it.

the works may be continuing over the Easter Break.

The contractors told us it would be "well into May" before they were off-site.

It actually took nearly 2 hours to get the crane back into position to lift the bridge (it was busy elsewhere)

After 5pm the bridge is removed (quote) "to avoid anyone nicking the plant and equipment". It is replaced in the morning as work commences.

.

Just long hours Martin, being woken by fishermen at 5.30am building a dinghy outside the bedroom and loading their kit is enough to start the day.☺

However, yes, 90 miles in two days is pretty good going.
