From BBC website, apparently there will be a flotilla that includes Gloriana that will be travelling between Hurley and Runneymede between 13 and 14 June.

"Boat owners have until 28 February to apply"

I know that nobody knows exactly where Magna Carta was signed, and that spelling consistency is a relatively recent thing, but conventionally it's Runnymede.

Everyone knows the the Magna Carta was signed in the Tearooms/Restaurant at the Windsor end of the A308.

The weather for that auspicious ocassion was somewhat inclement and they did nice Sconesclapping.gif

The organisers have made it clear that powered boats are not welcome....

"The main part of the relay from up river will be rowed and /or paddled craft although there are opportunities for motor or steam craft to join in at certain points. The final section will be a spectacular assembly of craft escorting the Document to Runnymede."

I see a bit of a problem with that. There wasn't a document at the original meeting, it was a verbal agreement which was written down afterwards and would have been sealed by one of the King's minions, according to this article on the BBC site I read a few weeks ago:

In the search for authenticity, will these rowed and/or paddled craft have to be of a suitable design in use in 1215?
