Ash 'shovel' for Premier Range

Anyone know where you can get a narrow ash shovel.

 

The back cabin has a Premier Range which is just toasty when you're cruising in Winter

 

'Spilt' ash builds up at the back of the ash box and eventually stops you getting the ash pan in. Trouble is, the ash box is a little over 3" wide and the shovel on the companion set is to big/wide to get in.

 

I could make one, but it'd be easier to buy one

 

Any sources?

Everso easy to make one. Or to convert a ladle or a big spoon.

I just cut the back off the ash pan. Makes it easier and less mess to empty and just scoops up the spilt ash when you put it back in.

I thoght of doing that, but the 'enclosed' pan makes emptying easier/less chance of spillage.

 

Midland swindlers do a replacement pan with the end missing - £21.50 !

3 & 1/2 " wide ?

 

3" is pretty much the max width.

 

There's loads available at 4", but that seems about the smallest

 

I may invest in a 4" one and modify it

I use an "Ash rake" or "Hoe" to drag it out. I cant remember where I bought it but its just a D shaped piece of steel on the end of a steel shaft.

Performs as an ash rake in the stove, and also works well down the weed hatch! Two functions may even justify the price!
