Booking Liverpool Canal Link

How much in advance does one need to book passage into Liverpool? We plan to travel sometime during the last week of July and first week of August--maybe a busy time.

I seem to remember it gets booked up quickly, as does the Ribble Link. We did the combined trip a couple of years ago and to make sure of the dates we wanted booked in early Jan. I think bookings are managed at Wigan office. Earlier the better I think if you want specific dates.

I booked a couple of years ago for a July passage. I booked it in January, and some dates were already taken. Check the days too, as I think they only do certain days in each direction.

There have been some changes in arrangements after April 2015, including reduction to 7 days stay in the docks, but I can't find them. Anyone provide a pointer?

There was a topic on here recently on a 'consultation' about the number of passages allowed into and out of The Link, and that C&RT wanted to know the best days to run passages. I've not seen any outcome. Does anyone know what they decided ?

Its a right mess at the moment and you can't book it for July.

Part of the consultation (which itself is a bit of a botch as most people were not informed about t) i to decide if booking should be on-line.

Because this MIGHT happen CaRT have suspended the old paper bookings. !!!

Best you do is no submit a paper booking which are currently stacked up but not getting processed,
