BubbleandCheek
Hi all I'm looking for interior WALL LIGHTs that have more of a 'house light look' as opposed to the standard cabin dome/tube/reading light styles. If anyone knows of where to get interesting/different styled 12v lighting, details and links would be much appreciated. Thank you :-) BEFORE RESPONDING: please heed your mother's advice... John V
You might find it easier/cheaper to buy a nice mains wall light designed for something like a PL lamp and modify it to low voltage/LED
Ex- Member
You might find it easier/cheaper to buy a nice mains wall light designed for something like a PL lamp and modify it to low voltage/LED Just buy 240v stuff and rewire it with 12v Bulb holders here http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/led-bulb-holder Edited April 13, 2014 by Julynian

BubbleandCheek
Thanks Chazzy. Thanks John V. John, easier/cheaper option sounds good. How would i go about modifying? Just buy 240v stuff and rewire it with 12v Bulb holders here http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/led-bulb-holder Thanks Julynian Is it just a case of rewiring the bulb holder? frangar
If you look at a site like bedazzled or baddie the pirate then you will find adapters that convert most common 240v lamp holders to ones suitable for LEDs. Cheers Gareth
John V
the type I used, had a metal back plate with the choke and holder riveted on, I just drilled the rivets out and fitted my choice of holder on the original holes........simplesqueek
matty40s
Another option is to look at Ikea light fittings , check the power use is 12v, and just snip the 24th transformers off.
