Brilliant, a simple solution well thought our. I actually have a spare tent which has T pieces in it anyway so might have a go at your design.

 

Mainly though because our cats enter and exit the boat through the engine room stern doors, which for this purpose are kept ajar, this has caused rain to enter blow through the doors, so your canopy will solve that problem rather than another cat flap which I don,t want to put into steel doors.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We love our pram hood, over our sociable stern (AKA cruiser stern, but don't we all use our boats for cruising!)
