After visiting Google Earth the site appears to be further to the NE, closer to the railway.

It would seem to be Samuel Barlow boat Daphne, going by the gauging number next to the engine side doors & if the information on the list in this link is correct

I am confused, on the AMM site it has this:

 

DAPHNE73H04/1955TRING 1302.12.58OC 562428.3.30

 

The boat I took the picture of has the gaugeing No as OC 5663?

 

Which is also Daphne

 

DAPHNE (M)48N07/1938DAV 4915.7.38OC 566330.8.38unc.8/99

 

Was she gauged more than once? and was this common?

I seem to remember that I caulked this boat at John Woolley's yard on the Ham at Brentford in the early 1890's. I think we put the cabin on it at Eel pie island. If I am not mistaken Jason Murrell towed it up the Thames to EEl pie island.

Two different boats.

 

OC5663 was a Nurser motor and OC5624 was an ex-Harvey-Taylor butty.

It is Daphne, the one that was on the Caldon for several years. Hopefully should be out & about in the north west this year.

Currently 4 wooden boats at this location, all in good condition.

I see you also captured the Ashbury's to Dowlow stone empties returning via Stockport

I can confirm it is the Daphne hauled out on the side slip at Ashton Canal Carriers, Hanover St Guide Bridge on the Ashton Canal, also home to Maria and Joel, and a Mecca for wooden boats. These Guys really know what wooden boats are about. This is currently Daphnes home mooring, as I understand it.

She is a lovely boat, and that is a lovely yard, and more importantly, that is a good height for bottom caulking!!!
