Buying my old boat back...

I'm seriously thinking about buying my old boat back. I regretted selling it for quite some time and i've kept in contact with the new owner who hasn't enjoyed boating a much as thought he would... has anyone else out there bought the same boat for a second time?

Not a boat, but have have brought back a motorcycle that I had for 20 years sold it to buy a different one ( cause her in doors said only one motorcycle at a time) the new owner never rode it so I asked for first refusal ) and a coulpe of months later I brught her back, now have three motorcycles, a boat and the same wife... she must love me !

 

At least you will know the orginal boat well including any possible problems, just got to get the price right !

We met an old guy who'd sold his lovely traditional narrow boat for a modern engined alternative simply to accomodate

his family for the odd day out on the boat. To his consternation, the odd days out verey rarely occured and he missed his first boat so much that he would have gladly bought it back.

 

The problem for him was that the new owners also loved it to bits and wouldn't comply!

You now know what improvements you should have done when you had the boat, that's hindsight also try to remember what p##t you off when you had it.

I would only buy an old vintage workboat now, perhaps alongside OldFriends.

I don't want another, don't feel the need for anything else.

Sell.......no way.

My cousin spotted his old yacht in Hong Kong and had it shipped home to Guernsey!

We met a boater on the K&A a couple of year back who had done exactly this.

They had sold their NB to get a boat more suitable for the French canals.

They did not enjoy life in France and upon returning to the UK found their original boat up for sale!

Can't remember the name!

I think this story is very plausible, though the French are quite good at bread and wine (and socialism) they really don't have a clue when it comes to cheese and beer, or maybe it was the wash from the big barges????

It might be, I Think I have heard that name somewhere before !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I think I remember they were making small items of wooden furniture to sell?
