Maybe they're sisters. Or perhaps she's gone Dotty?

 

Or maybe Polly has turned into a multi-sided geometrical figure (a Polly-gone) and has had to leave us.

 

If so Dorothy will have to fill the vacancy (act as a Polly-filler).
