RLWP
The Marlinspike Sailor It has some good decorative stuff, is well explained, and is a great read in it's own way. It's more focused on Nautical work but so what. Richard

PeteS
Other sites to look at are http://www.igkt.net/ http://www.tollesburysc.co.uk/Knots/Knots_gallery.htm It was suggested to me that intead of using a fid a plastic tent peg is a excellent substitute. As I'm a bit of a miser and have 100s of tent pegs lying around from my camping days I'm going to try this option before buying a fid

I have two, and they are the only tools specifically for ropework I have ever bought. The miscellaneous reels of tape, scissors, needles and so on I've gathered from around the house. The fid makes things much easier. And things are confusing enough when you start out as it is! Richard
