Yesterday, having been at home for a couple of weeks, we decided to spend the night on our boat. On arrival I lit the diesel fire but it never seemed to fully get up to heat. On investigation I spotted a mass of waxy material at the bottom of the reservoir that regulates the drip feed. Clearly, the cold has caused the kerosene to wax but I am wondering what would be the best way to unwax it? It seems unlikely that I'll be able to heat the diesel tank, pipes, etc enough to melt the wax so I wondered whether adding road diesel (with the anti-waxing agents) would help?
