  1. I'm doing the same as last year. Boat moored at Gnosall and a day trip to Ellsmere
  2. Think I may have got to the bottom of last years lurgy. Talking to a local bloke who spends most of his time in Saudi, he was back in Gnosall just before Easter with all the symptoms of the lurgy he said he caught it in Saudi, so I've told him not to bother this next year :-))
  3. small amount of bio washing powder and a small amount of water left in tank after emptying seems to work for us
  4. We plant spare seed potatoes and garlic when we can on the off chance they will grow, never harvested any but have had messages from other boaters who have found and eaten them. There used to be a few patches up on the Leeds Liverpool but that was about 12 years ago.
  5. Its a good year for Damsons as well. got the first batch of next years Damson Gin on the go just another 3ltrs to go. Our plan is to go onto the Chesterfield canal next year so keep those locking arms ready Jan.

  8. If it costs arou d £100 to polish the fuel would t it be cheaper to let the tank get low then pump out any crap from the. Ottom of the tank. As long as you throw away less than 100 ltrs your quids in.

  12. Stopped on these moorings to clear the prop last year. dont think i had time to stop the boat before someone in the houses down the bank was screaming at me to move on. Would love to see the no mooring signs removed on this section. Will probably stop there on my way back this winter. Sorry to hijack this thread, carry on

  14. I had quite a chat with someone last winter who thought it was ok to use the bench for cutting wood. He couldn't see the problem it wasn't doing much damage. I did point out that any damage was too much
  15. I think the moorings you refer to are not owned by CRT which is why they have been removed. That's what I got told. There's still a couple of spaces outside the pub at the time of typing. :-))
  16. theres a disabled pontoon with a ramp its just before the entrance to the river lea.
  17. 5th stop at Goldstone has visitor moorings and a nice pub for food. Or if theres enough time push on to market drayton giving you an easier day down to Audlem
  18. I said bridge to this lot sat with me and they all insisted it was the boat so yes I meant the bridge :-))
  19. I still prefer the boat. Always welcome there and Ive never had a bad pint unlike the Shroppie fly where I can't remember having a good a good pint. Will give it a try bit I think I will continue to give the Boat my custom
  20. Are they C&RT volunteers in charge of removing boats illegally moored at lock landings
