  1. Thanks for all your replies so far, looks like the only trouble spot is north of the tunnel, we will have to make sure that we get through on our second day. Any further tips or eating recommendations would be appreciated. 3 weeks to go, really looking forward to setting off. Paul
  2. We have planned our 3rd (we're hooked) narrowboat holiday, this time we are doing the 4 counties ring, clockwise from Andersen boats. Starting on Monday 5th August. We have done our research and know we can do it in a week, but would like some advice on overnight stops please. These stops are what we are planning, please feel free to advise if they are good or bad places to stop and if bad an alternative. 1st stop Wheelock bottom lock no 66 2nd stop just past the Harecastle tunnel (South end) 3rd stop Weston bridge no 88 4th stop cross green bridge no 71 5th stop Goldstone bridge no 55 6th stop Audlem bottom lock no 27 Last stop middlewich bottom lock no 74 thanks Paul
  3. Thanks for the overnight stop suggestions, we have put them into canalplanner & now have a route to follow and so should know where we will need to be each day in order to get back in time, thanks very much for your responses, very much appreciated. Paul
  4. We are new to this Forum and have been reading it trying to gain info on the warwickshire ring. We are picking up our boat from Kate boat's yard in Warwick and would like to do the ring 'clockwise'in 1 week. Can anyone please give us guidance on where we would need to be in order to get back on time at the end of each day. The one thing that worries me is getting back late. We would ideally like to have lunch/dinner at pubs during the day. Amber your route looks like one we would like to copy, where did you moor each night? Thanks for any help you can give, any other hints or tips would be appreciated (dog friendly pubs ect) Cheers Paul
