  1. I'll put it on the "to-do" list !
  2. Hi all, I've fixed the issues with Navvygator not downloading and few other minor issues people have reported to me. Hi Geoff, yes the old version did update every 5 minutes, the new one doesn't - I didn't think many people used that! I can re-implement if you consider it useful. Stu.
  3. I'm an android user as well (both tablet and phone) so its a strong possibilty - but I've never done any Android dev work so it may be a while! When you zoom out, if all the places were shown the map would be really cluttered and unreadable (theres about 25,000 places in the map!), the numbers are "clusters" and indicate how many places are hiding under the cluster, which get shown as you zoom back down/in. Whoops, forgot to upload it again after the upgrade! Try again later and it should work. See what I can do.
  4. Hi, I know a lot of you are regular users of my website and map's. I've just launched a redesigned and hopefully easier to use site. Take a look at: http://www.waterexplorer.co.uk and the full canal maps are here http://www.waterexplorer.co.uk/gmaps/interactivecanalmap.aspx Grateful for your comments! Thanks. Stuart.
  5. My tank is fitting in the kitchen in the almost impossible to use corner in a "L" shaped kitchen.
  6. Prefer mine... although it won't work on the boat as the cables not long enough!
  7. If you wanted brushed effect, its about £10. http://www.clickmetal.co.uk/Stainless_Steel/Stainless_Steel_Sheet_09mm_-_2mm/p-20-33/ Or even good old B&Q if you have someone who can cut it for you... http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=11607927&fh_location=//catalog01/en_GB/categories%3C{9372016}/categories%3C{9372049}/categories%3C{9372273}/categories%3C{9392101}/specificationsProductType=door_plates&tmcampid=4&tmad=c&ecamp=cse_go&CAWELAID=916286807 If it has to be shiny.. http://www.offcutshop.com/door-protection-plates/kick-plate/mirror-polished-stainless-steel.html
  8. Both fairly similar, they are a non flamable/combustable board material, looks like a thick plasterboard. You can purchase straight from B&Q/Wickes etc. About £30 a sheet. After which you just tile over the top of it. I think you will be surprised how much space you need to leave behind/around a stove when following the relevant specifications. I doubt that a stove would still fit into a corner of the boat without being too introduing into the cabin space.
  9. Another recommendation for Andrew. Used twice for my boat.
  10. Just make sure any curtains over doors don't block any ventaliation grills !
  11. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  12. Would your boat insurance cover you to sort this out?
  13. Great DIY project there. Seen people do this with a central heating radiator sprayed black, might be easiest to avoid having to make a copper pipe run and the cabinet etc. Wonder what the efficenency of this is compared to your version ?
  14. The flow switch was from Rapid Electronics http://www.rapidonline.com/Electronic-Components/Sensors/Flow-Pressure-Sensors/Flow-switch-copper/75123/kw/ and the Timer circuit was a kit based one from Maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk/universal-timer-kit-3315 I'm sure there are plenty of other ways to do this though! Yes, it will do this, anything left in the pipe between the plug hole and the pump inlet will fall back by gravity into the shower tray. What you normally do is to leave a loop of pipe under the plug hole to retain this excess and stop it flooding back into the shower tray
  15. Thats what I've done. The timer runs for about another 30-45seconds after the shower is switched off to keep the pump running. I also wired in a shower light/extractor fan to the circuit so as soon as you switch on the shower, the lights/extractor/pump all start.
  16. Its much easier to simply look at a map http://www.waterexplorer.co.uk/gmaps/ShowBoatLocations.aspx
  17. I brought a cheap as chips 240v LCD TV from Argos, took the power adapter off it (240v to 12v DC) and simply wired it straight in to the 12v circuit. Works fine, no issues even when engine pushing out 14.8v - assuming that it has an internal reguator. I did originally use an Amperor 12v regulator but this failed (they sent me another under warranty) but I never used it and sold it on.
  18. Not so! I know that part quite well and some of the moorers on that branch, the pipe in the water is there to simply stop all the rubbish floating up the cut to the end of the arm. The pipe is only attached at 1 side of the bank and boats can simply push it out of the way when they go through.
  19. One of the recent CanalBoat magazine's had an article on how to do it.
  20. Have a walk into town for the real ale pub "Duke William". They also brew their own beer out the back. Nice pork pies as well! http://www.thedukewilliam.com/ http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?hl=en&rlz=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=duke+william+pub+stourbridge&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=duke+william+pub&hnear=0x48708586300ab85f:0xb26ea77a9ad8d567,Stourbridge,+Dudley&cid=69748173344942623
  21. I'm just looking at a complete re-write of my mapping site over at www.waterexplorer.co.uk What features would people like to see? Does this software record a GPX file when your on the move?
  22. Arn't they going to build a new housing complex on that site? The problem with the arm is that its so isolated from anything else, along with zero lighting and your just asking for trouble. I doubt they know the significance of what they are doing, more likely just picking up a brick to lob in the cut.
  23. As usual on boaty stuff you may need several different fittings to convert what you have to what you want, eg. hosetail to bsp to what ever. A standard fuel tank vent would be fine IF the diameter of the hole/vent is suitable size. ie. is it big enough to remove water from the tank if over filled without causing presure to build up in the tank? Ideally, the vent should be similar size to the filler, but most people don't have anywhere near this.
  24. Just to dig up a really old thread! Looks like Amazon are the cheaper supplier of these GlobalSat BU353 GPS devices http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000PKX2KA/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=wateexpl-21&linkCode=as2&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B000PKX2KA Normally around the £25 to £30 mark with free delivery.
