  1. Glad you got it all done - it's never easy doing a server upgrade. Luckily when I was upgrading the Canalplan Server I was able to practice the build before we got the new server and once I've built it I kept syncing things up and actually kept both servers in sync for a few days before and after doing the final cut over.
  2. They miscaptioned their photo of the top lock of the Rufford Branch
  3. Last time we went in there it was cold and the food selection was poor (but the food was ok). Then it just seemed to close and now its just sitting there rotting. For a while there were a lot of aluminium beer kegs just lying around. Given the number of boats on the canal and how busy the other canalside pubs with lots of moorings are (Poachers Pocket etc) you would have thought someone would have taken it on and made it a going concern
  4. From talking to them a couple of years ago a lot of their custom isn't from the canal
  5. We were in there last June - beer was good and they happily swapped out a pint which was a bit on the edge (it was towards the bottom of the barrel). Food was basic pub food but good. Have never had a problem there not even back in September 2020 It just seems to be sitting there derelict which is odd
  6. Somewhere in the US - neither of those. Not all the locks on the canal are like this.
  7. Are you going to make any of this data available as a download so other people / applications can use it?
  8. They claim they sold out 2 days early and announced a winner on their FB page.
  9. No I meant it should use the geolocation facility of the browser to centre the map on your current location and then zoom in For example - the map server that we use for canalplan https://maps.tty.org.uk/index.html#7.9/52.908/-2.47 has a little icon under the zoom icons which centres the map on your current location (if you give the browser permission) and zooms in
  10. Indeed - we were moored at Braunston a good long time ago and the rain was so heavy that the entire marina went up by several inches and water was starting to top the puddle banks.
  11. That's great thanks - Nick and I were pretty sure that we could fit either a hat or a more complete box so it's good to hear that someone has actually done it.
  12. We're looking at replacing our old Alde Optimus with a diesel heater. As these are rather noisy we'd like to put it in the engine bay (there is plenty of space between the front of the engine and the bulkead). But being a cruiser stern there can be a bit of leakage round the removable centre deck board which could lead to water getting onto the unit. Does anyone see any problem in us putting the unit in an open fronted metal box so that any water would drip onto the metal box rather than the unit? If anyone with a cruiser stern has put a burner in the engine well I'd be interested to hear how you get round the problem.
  13. From right at the end - the bottom of the plate seems to be clear of the water and it really does look like its coming from behind it. I guess it could have sprung due to the hull flexing.
  14. So what's going on here? At the left side - it looks like water is coming up behind the plating?

    Part identity help

I have - usually caused by the spacer between the Alternator and the water pump arm not being the right size (it seems to be a set of washers here) so when you tighten the bolt up the alternator cant move because of the solid bracket on the engine block so the water pump bracket bends and shears off.
  16. And what does TS23625 say? I can only find an extract or I have to pay for it
  17. That's what we've had with ours - disconnecting and drying them fixes it each time.
  18. Or if you've come down Tardebigge and have spare time carry on down into Worcester, sight see and then go up the river and up the Droitwich
  19. The default settings (all regular navigation routes are neutral preference) take you via the canal and avoid the river Canal This is a trip of 87 miles, 7½ furlongs and 104 locks from Tattenhall Marina to Droitwich Spa Marina. This will take 49 hours and 23 minutes which is 7 days, 23 minutes at 7 hours per day. River This is a trip of 91 miles, 2¾ furlongs and 83 locks from Tattenhall Marina to Droitwich Spa Marina. This will take 49 hours and 7 minutes which is 7 days, 7 minutes at 7 hours per day. Changing between Preferred Route and Quickest route make no difference. If you up the preference for rivers it takes you via the river. So I suspect its just down to rounding errors in the internal calculations
  20. Great find - its got the 1 plate on the lock beam which is there but unreadable in the original B&W , and as you say the lockside buildings line up in terms of windows, chimneys etc.
  21. As the entire lock wall has been rebuilt the angle of the slope could have been changed. What would be a good tell is the grooves in the iron rubbing block on the bridge - none of the new photos I can find seem to show it so we can't compare
  22. If you look closely at some of the marks in the stone: Are a pretty good match
