  1. Thanks, it works now (slowly, but I'm used to that!)
  2. Mostly working, but 'view new content' goes straight to an error message every time. Tim
  3. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lister-D-Show-Set-With-187-Water-Pump-Ready-To-Show-Plymouth-Devon-/271897285601 Tim
  4. I'm a bit surprised that they apparently tried to persist with your existing diesel. It's not my subject, but must confess I'd have been inclined to chuck it and start again after the first failure. Easy to say, of course, if it's not me buying the new diesel Tim.
  5. I'm not keen on it for threaded joints, but a few starnds of hemp in the threads should help considerably. Tim
  6. I can understand your frustrations. I've improvised bolt seals in the past from an O-ring assortment. Unfortunately, filter makers used to supply an assortment of top sealing rings but that is no longer the case, whether you get the size you need will to some extent depend on the filter maker. Tim
  7. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 10 posts to view.
  8. What's the problem with the original paper element? Tim
  9. Basically yes the same times as Saltersford, though Preston Brook times are shorter because it's a longer tunnel. Going North, on the hour for 10 mins. Going South, on the half hour for 10 mins.
  10. Towergate have undergone a major restructuring, basically selling off big chunks of the business to reduce their debt. I had my business and home insurance with them, the business stuff was unceremoniously traansferred to another company only a few weeks after renewal, and I had a call just yesterday from a company I'd never heard of which claimed to have taken over the TM home insurance book and offering me an instant quote. If you have your boat insured with them your cover should still be OK even if TM go down the pan, because it'll actually be with Royal Sun Alliance or another company whose name escapes me. Worth just checking the policy, though Tim
  11. It was 'fitted' without dewatering, so it doesn't fit...
  12. Weren't you saying something the other day about castles not necessarily being universal in the past? Tim
  13. I was siiting in my garden over the weekend, trying not to listen to the shouty boaters and yappy dogs, and I was surprised at how many times I heard paddles drop unrestrained. Without going out & watching, I have no way of knowing whether these were deliberate ot accidental drops. We had a new top gate over the winter which has the horrible new catches, they don't stop anyone who wants to drop a paddle. I might post a pic tomorrow. Tim
  14. Make of these what you can:- Tim
  15. Please sign in to view this video
  16. Let me sell you my secondhand 24V charger I think it's 30A, have to check. Tim
  17. I'm intrigued as to why the OP is so keen for a pic. Surely either you have this kit or you don't? I'll see what I can find tomorrow. Tim
  18. I presume he's referring to the hydraulic combined speed/gear control fitted to give remote control of UC boxes. Fairly massive kit, with a big handweel at the steering position. I've probably got a pic in a gearbox manual, I'll have a look later on. Tim
  19. There have been some really crap designs fitted recently, needs dealing with. Tim
  20. Have you had the sprayer out to see what it looks like? You should get some clues then as to how to set it for starting. Tim
  21. Probably nobody thought about it beforehand. You seem to be expecting special provision for a select band of people. Oh, it's nowhere near the top of the Rochdale. I think you might stand more chance of success approaching your marina than Peel, unless you can somehow persuade Mr Whittaker that there is money in it for him Tim
  22. Keeps the bilges sweet (think wooden boat). Also on the Gardner the long tube is (should be) lined with felt, which quietens the airflow. Tim
  23. A little less flippantly, air filters on small marine engines only really came in when conversions of industrial or vehicle engines became popular, these engines already having them fitted. Even today, some small marine engines don't have any air filtration - some Vetus/Mitsubishi models, for instance. Tim
