  1. It should be tattooed nearer to the site of use in case you ever need assistance.................................... If you are using sealants in sockets, you put it on the pipe only then it does not restrict the flow.
  2. Sorry, trying to answer 2 posts at the same time, I can no longer multitask.
  3. That is the problem, they are migrating to Vodabone network hence the new sim requirement.
  4. I average the normal 240v under counter fridge running on a decent inverter at 50 Ah per day, seems to work out about right.
  5. But I don't need any data, just phone/text. Why is everyone intent on selling me data that I don't need? What happened to having no "account" and just topping up a phone?
  6. Its a good bet that the non return valve is where the blockage is, can you disassemble it?
  7. Strictly phone calls and texts in UK only.
  8. Cling film the bowl first before doing this !!!!!!!!
  9. I have been happy with ASDA mobile pay as you go for years. Now they want me to use a new sim because they are changing provider. Despite their email saying it has been delivered, I still have not got it. Trying to phone them is a joke, they are experiencing technical problems! Should I give up and change over to another company, if so which is best?
  10. Prestex compression fittings use their own fine thread, most others use BSP threads.
  11. I have had 5 Zanussi 1300 machines on boats that would fail to complete the cycle when on inverters. The problem seems to be that in the pauses between cycles the machine draws very little power and the inverters go to sleep. Running with a 40w lamp on at the same time cures this in my experience. But your inverter is too small as well, I think you are expecting too much. You could try disconnecting the heater element but that may send the machine into a fault mode, I don't know.

  13. Try sucking with a vax or if no vax, make a bung with a plastic bag and some rag on a stick and use it as a push and pull rod in the pipe to create suction and pressure.
  14. Can you blow down the discharge pipe? Not easy to do but use a poly bag over the end with a small hole so that your lips don't come into contact with the pipe.
  15. Whose is the adjustable spanner then? Surely not an "engineers". The bolt into the crankcase is normal, it will take the end thrust rather than weight which the front plate is designed to take distributed.
  16. Similar, but much more intimate. Right down to atomic level.

  18. Duck ! My chimney will fit under one but not the other.
  19. They are both supposed to be full narrow lock width. The towpath one was out of action for months, at first with no warning. It was up to the boater to find out it wouldn't work.
  20. Its not a serious failure unless the quoin post has come out of the bottom socket. A ratchet strap will hold a gate up. At one time the local length man would get his mate to help him set the collar packing back in.
  21. In the past when I needed to store a car for a while I found someone with a large drive and asked them If I could park for a while. Only got refused very occasionally, folk are helpful if you ask nicely. Is the carpark at Wedgewood still open and not controlled? You could ask Anglo Welsh at Gt Heywood, buy Liz in the shop a box of chocs.
  22. But there are some permanently moored boats on the system. No names, I'm not one for whistle blowing, live and let live. I know of one who is such a nightmare to C&RT that they leave them alone rather than start a war. Moored since 1995 in the same spot!
  23. Parachem. Jenolite. All based on phosphoric acid. I have used 85% phosphoric for years before priming to kill rust in the pit holes.
