  1. I just knew that would be coming.
  2. Dust the stick with talc or chalk, up to the lower mark without screwing it in will be the upper mark when screwed home.
  3. Excellent prices on gas too at Venetian.
  4. A Mate has an Honda inverter gen that started doing this, turned out eventually to be a blocked exhaust silencer.
  5. Quick correction there for you Blizz. I think I still have one of the piston winders somewhere. We used to buy Zodiacs and turn them into white wedding cars, many hours fixing brakes and rebuilding V6s with those awful fibre timing gears. Lot of white paint!
  6. Heaven knows what he did at the back end with those damn calipers. Cuban motorists used to make a cocktail of shampoo and other stuff for brake fluid as they could not get it imported. Faninating country, brilliant car rebuilders.

    Rain!

No, leaking as bad as it was when they re-watered. A small cascade on the far side about 3ft out from the gutter. My concern is for winter when it all freezes, last year was mild fortunately. All the brickwork in the arch is soaked, freezing will do severe damage and the road will be lethal with the ice and hanging icicles. C&RT are "monitoring it". They have stopped talking to Sam or answering his emails . Similarly they have chosen to ignore the rocks still in the new section on the off side which threatened to rip the bottom off his boat when he had to move over for an oncoming boat.

    Rain!

Saw you pass but was too late to wave, and you were steering. Beautifully slowly, thank you. Nice bit of sunshine this afternoon, rain forecast for 4pm What was the leak on the Shroppie near Barbridge like? Oops missed your last post, so its a leak that is not leaking?
  9. Sad that you think that is worth posting. I hope you never have this problem. Its not worthy of you.
  10. Forget it for now, Tumshie is bored. He'll just not use the forum. I'm convinced that its someone on here, it doesn't happen on his private firearms forum or on Thunderboat. But I'll get his computer and run malware software etc.
  11. Thanks for that The warnings come from the hosting company and advise going onto the site, this forum, with a new search and then changing the password there. That seems to rule out the warnings being to grab the password. So far they seem to have been foiled but its happening quicker, he went on tonight for the first time in a while and within 2 hours the warning arrived in his inbox.

  13. That's what happened once before, I think on another forum he uses, a disgusting post was made and he had to change his passwords and apologise to everyone. This has happened before to someone else? Sorry for any confusion but its worrying.
  14. Dad and I, but only dad, Sam, has this problem but he has been on the forum longer. Its not a virus or malware, he gets warning emails about attempts to change his password from the firm that host this forum. The address where the attempts are made keeps changing, from Canada to London, the last ones tonight were from America so whoever it is must be savvy on a computer. The worry is whether they are trying to get into other things too. We have tried swapping computers, its still only his they get at. We use the same MiFi yet mine is fine.....so far.

  16. Sounds a bit old fashioned to me. He uses a different name on Thunderboat but I can't stand that site, its puerile.
  17. Dad is Sam, I'm just a pale image of him, son of Sam sounded a bit off.
  18. Tony, lets see if we can ever agree about anything. Its Thursday, yes? I agree with 1 the spring pressure is constant, but what pressure is the electric pump going to be? The diaphragm will be under constant pressure, they are not designed for this. Leaking diaphragms are very common on old AC pumps, that's why they sell repair kits, the valves are more reliable. Oil dilution with fuel is common, I've had 2 cars that had had underbonnet fires due to petrol in the sump. Yes, diesel is less likely but still possible to destroy the engine before the OP realises.
  19. I know that but you have to be secretive around there. Shush! Now I will have to kill you.
  20. Fine, never read a PRM150 manual, carry on. Extra on a leap year?
  21. Cheapest engine oil, it will be all mineral. As temperature is not a big factor on a lightly stressed narrowboat with oil cooler, 10w/40 or 15w/40 is fine, even 20w/50 is usable. Should be changed when you do the engine, 750 hours sounds a lot, what does the book say?
  22. Try Staffordshire canopies 07761432092 Good fitter.
  23. A passing boater has just remarked that the level at Barbridge on the Middlewich branch is down about 8", so there would seem to be a leak somewhere.
  24. I'm amazed, last time I was there, 2017 I think, there were 3 C&RT mooring pitches across the wharf, little old lady said they were legal and paying for the moorings. Thought it odd as you could not moor for the services. C&RT does say it is a mooring site too. Good news if its available again, its the only possible diy kit pump out for miles.
  25. Hello? Pardon? Can you say that again? I'm a bit deaf, been moored on the M6 at Star City, Hello? What?
