  1. Ship fires are the worst, loads of compartments, nowhere for the heat and smoke to dissipate from the only way to fight it is to get in there and you might as well be blind. I really hope the fire lads are all safe at the end of this incident. 🤞
  2. The date on that is the 4/10/25 not tomorrow.
  3. ‘Kipper tie’ yes please 2 sugars 😁
  4. Well Hawne basin was very pleasant and very welcoming. Diesel was 74ppl. Going into the Gosty tunnel towards Hawne was slow going due to the silting but once past that it was ok. £50 refundable deposit for a gate key and Halesowen was not worth the walk. Next weekend they are having an open weekend so hopefully it will be busy for them.
  5. if it's a VDO tacho you can replace the counter as Iain_S has mentioned. The part can be bought here https://www.akspeedo.com/vdo-lcd-repair.php and there is a link to a video on how to do it on the website.
  6. Thanks all, probably going this weekend at some point after your receiving your advice. I’m going to call to see if they have a visitor mooring available for one night and fill up with diesel at the same time.

  9. I used lustre single pack deck paint to paint the roof of my boat last year. It still looks good one year on. The roof was quite rusty in places so I sanded it back to bare metal where it was rusty. I didn’t use any rust treatments as SML recommended not to, I put two coats of undercoat on and three top coats. I would use it again.
  10. Seeing as it’s a wide tunnel, I would suggest it means that 2 boats side by side going in the same direction is prohibited?
  11. Just as well, the only time I’ve been in the Willeymoor the food was terrible, seafood platter which was out of a Birds eye bag and fried in very old oil the taste was awful.

  25. EFAD training is all about making progress not how fast you can go, if the traffic is doing 10mph and the appliance is doing 15mph then you’re making progress, you have a responsibility to get the crew there safely as well as the safety of the public. Just before I retired my brigade brought a policy out that if the driver caused an accident and was found guilty of an offence then they would claim any legal costs incurred back off that individual.
