  1. The Ice Princess http://www.towpathtrader.com/boats/narrowboats/beautiful-30-iron-icebreaker-ps-30-000.00-2535.html
  2. That money spent on hiring could be spent fixing the many problems that will come with buying a boat lol
  3. I had that on my last boat 4 x 100watt panels fixed in place. I didn't really get any power from them until late april and then continued until october. Then it was so minimal it isn't worth mentioning. During the good months though it kept us fully charged and we used a fair bit of power!
  4. Seems like a decent boat to me. Offer them £33k and bet they take it.
  5. I used to attach a bit of hose on my fuel line and blow it out. It used to block quite regular though so got rid. Not fond of them really.
  6. I don't see why not. They should be very aware at all times to keep a look out for approaching boats and be ready to move out the way. Common sense being on a canal with boats right.
  7. More disappointed that the boat squeezed through and didn't tie it back up.
  8. I polished our last boat once and its the first time the dog has fell off the boat whilst on the move. Polishing can be deadly lol
  9. Yes I just came across that. Its a good point!
  10. I assumed all trads people had to lay down like me.... some people got it easy lol. I will add hinged floor to the list of upgrades I need to get done the last time I thought something was in the weed hatch I didn't want to have to do the contortionist act so I just got in the water instead. Since then I saw people using boat hooks on the old boats so now I do it that way. But hinged lid seems like such a good idea can't believe I never saw one before.
  11. Our floor is solid and we have to crawl under the space.
  12. Mine is best setup for internal space. 70ft trad and no cratch just all cabin. Nice window at the front where the bed is.
  13. Seems like a genius idea. Might get one and become a roving trader blacking on the go
  14. Don't forget on a cruiser you can get the big pram covers so nice big outside space in the rain if your into that....
  15. Yes I gathered. But since you mentioned power usage the type I posted are the most efficient you can get due to the box design and the fact cold air falls. So the typical door type the cold air falls out and then needs to use power again. I have a big boat and could have gone built in also but I suppose if you want built in then its of no use to you. Yes I do love the seating on those boats very nice, been looking at those boats on the auction I shared and its hard not to put a bid in The other 2 I was considering are on bimblesolar: http://www.bimblesolar.com/offgrid/solarfridge
  16. I had cruiser stern on last boat. Loved the seating but hated the design of the backend it was a big giant box. It also seemed high in the water so we'd rock all the time. Anyway now have trad with deep draft and prefer the curved back end with a proper engine room. Also hated my cruiser stern because the engine hole would always end up getting nasty so can't keep your engine nice... it needs a proper home. But I did like the easy access to the weed hatch. On the trad have to squeeze down a small space laying down, not so fun really. But worth the change. Go for a trad. I've seen some people bolt seat poles at the back so seating can be possible...
  17. Good if you need to reverse down locks regular if your mooring is up the top but water down below etc.
  18. Can't comment on either you posted but best thing I ever purchased was this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00JJV2V5I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I've got a cushion on top use as a seat. It can be used as a fridge or freezer very low power usage. Love it!
