  1. Or one of these Percy: Greasomatic automatic stern greaser (nbpercy.blogspot.com)
  2. Well its worked for me for 20 years and many 100s of other boaters
  3. How did you get the nut off with the olive still clamped on?
  4. ARS is not the same company it was when I did mine, They were based about 15 miles from me in Norfolk but sold out and retired. Mine has been in use since 2002. ARS supplied the motor, the pump came from a refuse lorry. Mine is fixed ratio not adjustable that suites me. On big up side is when you get a log of wood in the prop the relief valve just lifts, no damage. I use speed wheel engine control and push /pull gear change. The main reason for the installation was full height in the back cabin.
  5. @PeterScott Can I pinch this photo please, I was telling people about the tooth rocker as the Lowestoft Gullwing bridge also runs on a toothed rail Livestream – Gull Wing Lowestoft (gullwingbridge.co.uk)
  6. Sure have Voac motor and pump sized to give approximately 2:1 drive ratio, also hydraulic bow thruster.
  7. I don't dislike the charge I am just pointing out that boats with moorings pay more to CRT that the licence fee and more than what CCs will be paying with the surcharge and don't say its so I have the convenience of somewhere to leave may car or boat, that is what the marina owner gets paid for.
  8. Does what you have already let the smell through after all that time, if not why not just use the same ?
  9. But we already pay more to CRT indirectly via the lump they take from the marina operator, he doesn't pay it, I do included in what I give him every year. In fact I am paying CRT to take my boat off the canal.
  10. SU fuel pump, common problem with the contact points
  11. I doubt a home moorer would dispose of 365 days worth of garbage per year into a CRT facility or even 365 days worth of effluent into a CRT facility
  12. I thought construction couldn't use it now
  13. They must have a very limited market now it can't legally be used in plant
  14. I don't know how often this gets updated Where to buy diesel – Retirement with No Problem but it lists those that do a fixed split
  15. You only drive to Norfolk if you want to go there, its the end of the world, A14 is OK and most of the A11 but after that its interesting
  16. Saw this today and like the idea.
  17. So you agree if they upgrade the electrics and put chargeable meters in they will still need to charge £X a night to moor there
  18. As I said, every one of them seems to behave differently, just have to take it slow and see what is happening
  19. The only place I have had problems with that technique is coming up from Chester to Barbridge, every lock seems to behave differently. At least Anderson Boats go to a lot of trouble trying to train their hirers before letting them lose, the best I have ever witnessed If I am passing through a Thames lock unattended then I run a longish stern line to a bollard and take the bow line ashore to control the boat while Diana operates the lock. That is why at least one of us is always ashore in the lock. I have had Volockies say get back on the boat, but I just say I'm fine ta. The worst one was going down Bunbury Stair Case locks, with another boat wo said "O good, a volunteer I don't need to do anything" The said volunteer then opened the paddles walked over to his chair in the sun facing away from the lock and read his news paper. Diana was ashore on my side
