    We know a lot of people who have sold their boat and bought a Motorhome as they still have the travelling bug and can't seem to settle at all.

    Not a single paid up boat at Batchworth to Stockers at Rickmansworth on the Winter moorings. There is 250 metres set aside with a price of £13.50 a metre of boat length per month. It's as far away from the town and services as you can get , So I wonder why it's empty ? Just to add there is the C&RT work boat Spanner moored in the middle of the designated Winter moorings , I wonder if he has paid to be there !!

    Just as good in the winter as summer in my opinion.     Bloggers with Shiny boats ,retired on a modest pension, who all know each other's name .....Its a great community .. As with all genuine continuos cruisers ,some who work and others that just enjoy the peace of Winter cruising we keep the cut open and make it a great place to live .when all the shiny marina boats are tucked up on their berths ...Come and join us ,you are half way there ..You are more than welcome !!!

    why can't there be some affordable housing for the local people in this development ....So a mortgage of £10,000 over 25 years at 4% works out at £52 a month...um

    After selling off Marsworth Wharf which is near to Bulbourne here we go again.... the cheapest houses now built on that site are an unaffordable £515,000.. ..........Surely this is just another case of Asset stripping by the trust ???

    I get a 3 month prescription , but what I did was to repeat that prescription every 6 to 8 weeks when we first started living aboard ?For some reason it was never questioned at the chemists that I repeated it so often . I now have over a years worth of meds in reserve and don't have to worry about getting short. I now order just every 3 months as the prescription says. Not sure if it would work everywhere but might be worth trying....

    Ice can also put a hole in your hull, as it did to Jules fuel boat a few years back ...not sure how thick the ice was or the condition of the hull .

    We tend to slow to tick over when the approaching boat is two to three boat lengths away which still gives us good steerage and then just hug the tunnel wall as we pass ...
