    Ditch the box, go for walks , enjoy the view explore whats around you and watch a dvd if the weather is shite. Cannot honestly say i have missed mainstream tv, sky, freeview at all.

    If you have gps on your phone go to www.waterexplorer.co.uk and create an account. All you need from there is to install a gps app on your phone which will create a gpx file so you can upload to waterexplorer. All free no need to purchase anything if you have an android phone you have all the equipment you need

    Grain barges used to run down from Goole to the flour mills at Gainsborough. As kids we sat and watched them and waved as they went by....so still running in the middle 1960s

    We've moored there with no troubles at all albeit it is noisy. Friends of mine moored at the Vale and had their ropes slashed and the following night at the Holiday Inn they were slashed again.
