  2. Hi Dave, I'm not sure that Phil's comments where designd to be so much a sneer, But reading the OP, it does appear that to actually be in the process of buying a Sizable boat, with NO engine, AND have to find a South London Mooring in say 50 ish days is a big ask. And because it's got no engine, and could possibly be on a River or Canal somewhere, I think the Practicality of Shopping, Toilet, Gas Water ETC that Phil spoke about,,,,Does need major consideration. Just saying. But to the OP Welcome, and Good Luck. Keep us posted.
  3. Well make the most of both the Boat, and the wether, Enjoy

  13. yes, lots of Mackerel about, & Cod, ofcourse I agree that most fish tastes much better Fresh, but when you catch a few,,,you sort of get all fished out and fancy a Beef Stake instead,So the Freezer comes in handy !. How about you NC !, Did you get your Fishing Rod out ?. Anyone else any luck ?.
  15. Thanks Guys. As I say, it's been years (over 20) since I had a multi fuel fire on a boat, but a boat has just arrived in the Marina & it's bought that ' Open Fire Smell' with it as you walk past it, even when it's NOT been on in this hot wether, and it's just bought back memories of when I had one all those years ago thats why I ask. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pwlz54ip452hnfl/IMAG0746.jpg?dl=0 Do you think Polished Stainless Steel would have the same effect as the copper sheet ?.
  16. Blackrose What a lovely installation and background you've got there, I like that a lot !. Can I ask - Does your boat or your clothes abs furnishings suffer with that 'Open fire smell' and I mean that respectivly not as a insulting comment. It's just that my main reason to swap over to diesel heating (Taylor drip fed mainly, and in later years Webesto) many years ago on previous boats was that smoky smell through out not ont my boat, but my clothes, and soft finishings as well. But you're stove/Fire installation really appeals.
  17. Yep,, Ditto. And my ONLY internet access is my HTC Smart phone. I think it's just a problem that we are experienceing at the moment on mass so to say, and let's give full credit to the behind the scenes work that goes into this incredible platform that we all use, Well done and Thank you to all the 'Hidden minions' !.
  18. Hi ya, There was a thread running about insurance about 9 or 10 pages back, as with several others that might be worth a read for you, But I hope you get it sorted anyway. You could try Coleman 01202647400 I have found them very good, and are happy to tailor the policy to a degree for your specific requirements. Mine is for Inland and coastal, Private, Pleasure and Stipulates 'a Full time livaboard', including Contents Machinery, Tender, Life raft, Outboard, Personal effects cover for anyone aboard up to the certificated threshold (of 10 people or 1250kg) of up to £250 etc etc loads more £276.00 (90k Aluminum Alloy boat). I have given them 3 Complete out of water full surveys, and the premium has remained pretty constant over the years I have been with them, regardless of where I am geographically.
  19. For Mullet, Wet Bread about the size of a Grape, small ish hook . Right net to the boat !
  20. Yes, I do 'Try' !, made a cpl of little annoying mistakes like the order of my Bow Thruster, Stern Thruster, and Invertor Fusses and wiring (Top Right)- https://www.dropbox.com/s/pmi5qlfsdiuc61s/2014-04-30%2016.21.05.jpg?dl=0 Annoys me every time I look at it,,,,I really must change them over,,lol.
  21. Ahh you can't rush these things Sir Phil,,lol I leave mine well alone, just a wipe now and again, much like NC, https://www.dropbox.com/s/h9c9azk95bgof92/2014-04-30%2016.27.31.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/zs4kzuvhs9otp6m/IMAG0101%20%281%29.jpg?dl=0 11years old now, and appart from touching up the eng paintwork last year, and the occasional wipe in the Bilges I haven't touched it.
  22. Yes, Maybe !,,,I should label the bags up if I don't eat them straight away and they end up I'm my freezer, I'm taking a few mates out for a jolly this weekend to Cows (IOW) if the weather holds, so will dangle a hook or two and see what's about. Got to be honest, it's NOT a favorite trip of mine to make, Far too Busy and stressful, but my going to meet a mate on his boat before he heads back up to Milford Haven (Wales). I believe there are still Cod, and Sea Bass about, Almost Guaranteed Huss, Mackerel and EEl so it will be like a dip in a Lucky Bag !. As I said before,I'm no Fisherman, and can't even identify some of what I get, but will post a picture if I get lucky.
  23. Hey,,,Get You !, Looks good,, it's SO much easier to see any future problems regarding Oil and water leaks and to find things when you inevitably drop them in a nice Bilges.
  24. Love it !. Because it has an air of truth to it ha ha.
