  1. HI, Have recently bought a View21 Twin Tuner for our television. This machine plugs into tele and aerial, tunes the tv into as many channels as it can find. Then once tuned in, allows us to pause, record on 2 channels whilst watching another. Sounds great, BUT, it seems to be very sensitive. Only got to knock the box and it needs retuning. When tuning, it gives an option of East Mids or West Mids . The book advises where the aerial needs to be pointing - ie, towards the mast in Sutton Coldfield for W Mids or toward Nottingham for E Mids. Problem is, having tried various combinations, moving of aerial, we manage to get one or two channels working well and then it will start to hiccup by picture stopping but voice carrying on. Does anyone else have one of these Twin Tuners? have you had the same issue at all? Do you have any advice? Thanks Kim

  3. Hi Phil, Thanks for above advice. Pump is only 2 months old and PRV less. I switched water pump back on this morning and it has not done same thing. Washing machine going and when water drawn, seems to be all ok now. I have put the immersion on as the water was hot last night when issue occurred. Going to try and recreate situation to see if that makes a difference. I have called the boat builder and he is sending someone out to have a look. Bet the damn thing doesn't happen again now
  4. Thinking of you and I cant imagine being in this situation. Its not fair when innocent people are affected.
  5. Goodnight Phil, thanks for advice )
  6. Quick question - hubby just had shower, turned it off and water started to pump out outside and water pump kept going. upon releasing at release valve, water stopped pumping until it reached a point and then started pumping out again. We have switched off water pump. cant get anyone out at this time of night, is this the right thing to do? assuming it is the valve on the calorifier that is the problem but any advice welcome

  8. By way of an update and thank you for all your help on this ) I repeatedly asked the boat builder to advise as to whether the Webasto was fitted directly to the batteries or through the control panel. I didn't get an answer from him however, he did send along an electrician today. It transpires that our battery isolation switch was switched off resulting in us running only off the starter battery. As we are on shoreline, we would not have noticed this as the power was keeping the starter battery charged up. The draw of the Webasto, the 12v lights, fridge was just a little too much which is why all the 12v lights were flickering. It certainly would have made an issue if we had been out on the water ending up in a flat battery. We do not have any idea why the switch was off but we have had that many different workers on the boat over the last 4 months that it could have been any of them for any reason. It may even be that it was in that position since we picked up the boat, who knows. Thank goodness nothing more serious.
  9. Does it really matter whether there is a "moi" an "I" or a "me"? It is the message and the contribution to the forum what counts isn't it?
  10. There may be reasons why people are grumpy. Perhaps they are not feeling well, perhaps they are deaf and cannot hear you, perhaps they have bad eyesight and cannot see you well so cannot see you smiling or saying hello. Perhaps they have problems which are weighing them down. Perhaps they are just grumpy gits. Emilia, it does not matter what other people are doing. You get on and enjoy your boating. If you come across someone who smiles at you, then engage and smile back, chat, wave. If they are not smiling at you, just float on past. It doesn't matter. You don't have to engage with everyone. Not everyone wants to "get friendly", that's their right but don't let it get you down, Its a big stretch of water we have out there. Just enjoy
  11. No flickering when engine on, we are on shoreline and no flicker. It only flickers when the webasto is whirring. No webasto on, no flickering. Lights are on now, no flickering as no webasto on.
  12. Hi Paul, As long as the webasto is on, the lights flicker. If I put it on, they don't flicker initially, then once it boosts up, they start and then continue. The webasto sort of slows down and flicker does too, then when webasto boosts up again, then so does the flickering. I will check the earths on webasto and see if this may be the issue, thanks Roger
  13. When our webasto is on, our step lights, outside stern light, bathroom shelf light all flicker. The main lights and lamps don't. Our boat builder does not seem to know why this happens. Can anyone make any suggestions as to why this may be? The lights do not flicker at any other time.

  15. Hi Tom 2 of us on boat, we have a tank 650 ltrs. auto wash m/c(on 4 days out of 7), both shower every day, liveaboard so plenty tea on go, fill up every 2 days but we are not overly conservative as in marina, so easy to fill up. also 5 dogs
  16. slope top to tail is normal. pop something under the tail end of bed to lift up slightly. slope sideways not normal, if there is a list, as Beaker says, maybe ballast needs adjusting or move some furniture around or maybe your ropes are too tight on one side
  17. Hi Both, Glad to hear that against all odds, you are settling in. Looking forward to your pics when ready.
  18. I have followed this thread and whilst the issues have in the main been focussed on the boaters suffering uncertainty and whats going to happen now, it has been an interesting discussion. Quite honestly, the differences between the 2 Lillies are of no interest to me and I find it quite amazing that either are willing to air their personal problems in the public domain but it does appear that both seem to need to be centre of attention. I would like to see this discussion focus on the issue in hand because the Lillies personal lives are not the main issue here.
  19. you could try some of the part baked rolls (keep for ages in the cupboard) from Asda/Morrisons. They take about 10 mins in oven, smell delish, taste great and as they have quite a long sell by date on them, can easily keep in cupboard for that soup and roll day
  20. PLEASE BE AWARE, IT WAS NOT ME WRITING THIS, I HAVE JUST COPIED A TWEET. - JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT NO-ONE THINKS THAT THIS COMES FROM ME
  21. FSB Leics NHants etc ‏@FSB_L_N_R 9h I am at @pillingslock in Leicestershire. Can see a summer event here being arranged! Wonderful marina even in the snow it is a great place. This was on twitter earlier today
  22. Actually, that's a great idea ) Having the auto, I wouldn't fancy the work involved. My mum too used to have a twin tub and I seemed to remember her spending all day doing washing (although there were three kids and M & D too. Hope you find the one that suits you best . )
  23. don't make the mistake that our boat builder made. ensure that whichever way the water runs is where you have the plug hole otherwise you will be swishing the water toward the hole with your feet !!!!!!!!!!!!!
