  1. The more footage I see of this failure, the more I'm coming to the thought that it will never reopen. It will drag on for years over arguments about who is financially liable. By the time it is finally decided the cost will have risen to the point where it is just not financially viable. I hope I'm wrong.
  2. Looking at the mountain of earth in the background, I wonder if there has been some building work going on that might have triggered the failure.

  4. I wonder if that blue cable going into the porthole goes to a remote switch in the cabin to turn on the immersion heater?
  5. When the gnome goes mad with the hedge cutters he does an Eric Morecombe figure!
  6. Google brings up some mixed suggestions from paint companies - some recommend upside down, some don't (seems that most of the water based are against it and solvent based for it). All of them do recommend putting the lid on properly!! I do keep a few clean empty 500ml tins for when I have paint left over and want to keep some for touching up later, less bulk for storage and less air pockets in a tin which seems to help stop excess skin on top. Can't believe I'm googling crap like this on Christmas eve - wish there was something worth watching on TV!
  7. Never thought of that, but makes perfect sense!
  8. Don't know, it was a shell I took on to keep me occupied years ago, haven't seen it for ages. Osmo doesn't tend to darken but if the wood underneath does then maybe it would show through as it does with varnish. Our current cruising boat has T&G painted off white and looks fine.
  9. The one I did with pine T&G I finished with Osmo oil - very easy to apply and if it gets knocked just go over the damaged bit with more Osmo, unlike varnish which does not patch well. The one I really liked (and done for me, not DIY) was American oak T&G, comes out a bit lighter than regular oak but looks Ace!
  10. Thank you for calling, your call is important to us. Please hold until an adviser is vacant.
  11. If you like pine, or are thinking of painting the end result, consider tongue and groove - easy to handle, very little waste and goes up quicker than you'd think. Personally I prefer the look.
  12. I thought the first series was excellent (acting, storeyline, sets, all of it) - but with each subsequent series the worse it got all round (apart from the sets) until I didn't bother watching the last one !!
  13. "Hang on a minute lads, I've got a great idea..." (with apologies to Michael Caine)
  14. Any idea what caused it to take on enough water to sink it?
  15. For the sake of accuracy, yes he did. But in fairness, Junior said he was wrong and within an hour Matty acknowledged that and basically withdrew his comment on the crime number

  19. At the very least she should have gone home wearing the dog shit
  20. You need to hook it up to an electric motor connected to your solar panels........... hang on, there's something wrong here but I can't work out what.
  21. Google says the one at Whaley Bridge can carry 40 but it is a restaurant boat not just a day cruise
  22. I'm guessing one answers to 'Oi, you' and the other one 'Not you, the other one' - although knowing cats, that's if they respond at all😆
  23. Have you tried Captain Tolley's creeping crack cure?
  24. biggest point for us was the big wheels - the narrow wheels are pretty much useless in mud
  25. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08XW1NPHM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 we bought one of these - been used often over the past 3 years for coal, gas, 56lb weights (4 at a time!) and still going strong. Sat on the roof through two winters with no problem.
