Hi! there are usually an assorted collection of interesting boats in Penzance "Wet Dock" which is only 5 min walk from Penzance Bus/Train train station, there used to be one or two live-aboard dutch barges there if i remmber rightly. Also i have done the cruise up the River Fal the scenery is beautiful, and just now i suspect there will be a few large cargo ships laid up in Fal so interesting viewing. BS

  10. Over the years i have seen a number of ships/oilrig lifeboat conversions to commercial fishing boats, and also commercial pleasure trip boats.

Just an idea! why not get the vessel down to the Humber, and hire a small sea-going tug and tow the vessel down to the Thames, that way engine reliability would'nt be an issue and probably most of the regs would'nt apply. After all there are plenty of barge's being towed around the UK coast everyday of the week. its got to be a lot cheaper than taking it by road and all the hassel that would entail. Rgds BS
