  8. i did River Wey to Brentford a couple of years ago, 23ft narrowboat with 10hp 2 cyl engine, no problem, Lockies are really helpful and its an easy run

  10. Many of the lock walls leak in that area,
  11. the normal scam is, you will get a fake email saying he has paid for the item and extra for the shipping agent the shipping agent will then send you an email for his fees, you pay the shipping agent ( Usually a few hundred £££ ) you then find out either the payment was fake or reversed leaving you out of pocket for the fees paid to agent

  13. i spent a year moored at apsley, the people there were great and the nearby shop and food outlets were good too, friday/sat nights were sometimes a bit noisy but you did get a security guard in the area at weekends, i only moved out because i got a cheaper mooring not far away Aylesbury basin at the end of the Aylesbury arm also worth a look

  17. Never heard of it, im guessing as water is a great conductor, that it would be earthed through your annodes !
  18. swans are greedy, we had a family of 8 near the mooring ( mum, dad and 6 little'uns ) all they did was eat eat eat ducks seem to have a bit then move on

  22. Been out on the Thames estuary many times on a jetski, you would need to be slightly mad to go out there on a narrow boat, it can turn from dead calm to 6ft plus swell in a few minutes, I have some great vids of choppy seas at the end of the pier when I've been out :0)
