  1. Sikaflex make a cleaner and catalyst, Sika Activator 205, which surprisingly works very well. There is a different activator/cleaner depending on which Sikaflex you are using and the structure to be bonded.
  2. Preparation is the key. Various caravan manufacturers stick the windows in with Sikaflex, one in particular skimps on the prep, not leaving it long enough after the pre treatment for it to cure. The result after a while is leaky windows and damp in the van. There are pre treatments for Sikaflex that you should use if you want a good joint.
  3. Call sikaflex technical tell them what you want to do and ask them which one. Their tech help desk is incredibly helpful.
  4. I ran mine with one of these: Step Up Converter,KUNCAN 5V to 12V 1A USB Step Up Voltage Transformer DC Power Cable with Barrel Jack Booster Module https://amzn.eu/d/ffrCr6c Needs a 2 amp usb socket to run it.

  6. Don't forget the fuel tank needs pressure testing and having a hatch that will need a good seal is going to make this more difficult.
  7. Never had an inspection hatch on any of my boats but have always had a decent drain at the lowest point of the tanks. Never had much water in the tanks either. Maybe pint or so in 30 years.
  8. Especially if it goes on SSA at any point 😲
  9. It will go the same way as Titchmarsh, back to manual wind 😲
  10. The CNC machine at work cut it fine using a router type thing not sure what speed it ran at.
  11. HDPE can be cut with a saw and drilled much like wood can just take it easy. I used a jigsaw to cut my fender hangers. Never had a problem with it melting. My hangers were two pieces bolted together as I only had 10mm thick HDPE. A deburring tool is essential to get rid of the sharp edges.
  12. I'm afraid most of it came as scrap off cuts from my last work place. I did get some from on eBay for other projects. A very useful plastic 🤔
  13. HDPE is great stuff, hard enough to have strength but soft enough not to damage the paint provided all edges and corners are rounded off with a deburring tool.
  14. If I had to it would be a bowline. However mine were attached in the same way a tent guy rope is, easily adjustable.
  15. The joys of SSA I do miss the river but not the SSA 😲 I see @blackrose is going nowhere on his boat for a while 😉
  16. Found a pic from the sales details that just shows the hole there are two on each rubber. Blue arrow points to hole
  17. The original rubber would have a couple of slots in the top to allow water to pass down below and out of the drains. I don't have the boat anymore so can't do a picture😲
  18. I guess it's due to the fact that B42/48 and N78 are all in the same frequency band. My Huawei says 5g only on the external ports but looks like in reality it means 3.5ghz band. Never seen it expressed as channels before. Question is do the lower frequency 4g channels use the internal antennas when external antennas are connected?
  19. You generally only need 5kW to run a heat pump and heat a house so 3kW would be enough to run a heat pump to keep a boat warm.🤔
  20. https://tucker-designs.com/survey-and-consultation/
  21. It has to be more than the cost of a full time mooring in that area divided by 365. £15 would be more reasonable outside London.
  22. I found a fault! Whilst is supports most bands on its internal antennas on external antennas only B42 and B48 on 4G and N78 on 5G are supported. So not much use on 4G if you need external antennas.
