I have none of these issues in my very ordinary house with a view of lots of other very similar ones on a very ordinary estate in a very ordinary town.

If anyone wants to swap ......

Not unless you have 1M sweetener to go with it.

The OP is very lucky it's only ducks. Where we moor we have:-

Canada gees who swarm everywhere, poo on the grass, poo on the staging,

Egyptian geese who shout all night - and much louder than the Canucks above - oh and the fly onto the roof and poo there.

Swans tapping at the windows and when I shoo them away the swear at me..

Life's a B....

(A corollary - some years ago a very nice lady moved in to a house further up the road. Some time later she phone me in a state saying - "There's an huge muddy tractor and trailer outside making an awful mess". To which I replied, well this is a country lane, there are farms around look at the name on your house it's - '**** Manor Farmhouse'. Folks have difficulty in adapting.....)

Ooow i have swarms of canada geese here, its like the battle of britain when they sworm down to land on the water in large groups.

OK, I will seeing as you insist!

Man is woken by the sound of tap tap tap on the hull of his boat.

Looks out to see a duck tapping away.

He shouts "go away" (or a similar phrase) at the duck.

The duck replies "Got any bread Mr?"

Man shouts "No, clear off"

Duck resumes tapping on the hull.

Man shouts "Go away or I'll shoot you!"

Duck pauses tapping and asks "Got a gun Mr?" and starts tapping on the hull

Man shouts "No, clear off"

Duck pauses tapping and asks "Got any bread Mr?" and starts tapping on the hull again...

Yes, that's my one with the extra long sleeves and the fastening at the back.

Would a plastic owl or bird of prey help to keep the ducks away? My apologies if already stated.

Living canalside canalside, we get lots of ducks on our garden. I bought a plastic owl with a swivelling head to scare them off. Completely useless.

However since we got our rescue GSD they stay away whilst he is in the garden. Problem is they come back and taunt him as soon as he goes inside the house.

Yet another excellent reason to have proper boaty portholes instead of them ridiculous bus windows!
