Has anyone else seen the advertising hoardings with 3 narrowboats going over an aquaduct? Is it the Pontsyclytte (however you spell it)? Don't suppose anyone here supplied the narrowboats, did they?

I think it is advertising a telephone network

Dear Alivor

The correct spelling is Pontcysyllte with full name being Traphont Ddŵr Pontcysyllte

You click the "image" button - it's two to the right of the smiley face. Then a box pops up asking for the URL of the image. When you click "Insert image", you get something like this:

[img=http://www.smiliegenerator.us/smiley-search/m/moonwalk.gif]

and when you save the post, it looks like this:

moonwalk.gif

I'm not sure I actually want to use them, but you seem to have a different menu to mine. Top left screen I can choose fonts and sizes etc, and on the second line I have an "emoticon" face. If I click on that I get a box to the right of the text I am about to enter that gives one single column of emoticons, with a written description or a series of key entries such as :-D in a second column - I don't get multiple columns where there is anything to the right of "smiley face", and don't get a "moon walk" or a "thumbs up" choice. :banghead:. I feel deprived :(

that menu is just the smilies that Daniel has included for forum use.

You have to go searching the interweb for the "specialist" smilies.

Its nothing to do with this site's menu options. I used the "insert image" option described to me to insert the link to the smiley I wanted to use. If you look at the typed link I put up, http://www.smiliegenerator.us/smiley-search/m/moonwalk.gif,'>http://www.smiliegenerator.us/smiley-search/m/moonwalk.gif, all you need to do is shorten it to http://www.smiliegenerator.us/smiley-search in your browser bar & it'll take you to the site I use for emoticons' search page. Its then a simple case of copying the link to the emoticon you want to use in this site's "insert image" menu option. In fact all you need to do is click on the 2nd link above to take you there.
