Stuck at boarstal lock

I got stuck there in flood a few years ago, ok to start with but we got increasing attention from kids around there. Contacted the roaming warden and BW, then, helped us safely turn above the weir and get to castle gardens, they also gave s a lift to empty cassettes and top up diesel. Don't risk going below till its well below red. If you do turn, you may likely get a prop full there though.

Are you all still stuck at Belgrave Lock or has the level dropped?….. I think the gauge there always says red even when the levels aren't that high due to the way its fixed to the lock!

Please do keep us posted!

Cheers

Hi All

I hope all is well in 5 weeks as we are going that way

How often does the gauge go in the red and how long does it take for the water to go down before you can pass though .

Its our first time on the Leicesters ring

Thanks

Graham

Thanks for updating! We will be coming through there on Monday so hopefully no more rain before then!

According to the EA website pillings lock is still in flood but as all the other Soar gauges have dropped I'm not sure if that's right.

Cheers.

The Soar was still red at Cossington this morning at Sileby it was just about amber. Mountsorrel amber and Barrow green. Sileby day boats were escorted to Mountsorrel with the stream and were making their own way back against it. The river was falling slowly with a dry forecast for tomorrow but more rain from Monday onwards so it should fall for a couple of days and then may rise again. The most useful guide to Soar levels on the EA web site is Syston on the Wreake. Pillings is an artificial level because of the large radial gate which can be opened or closed to control levels.
