Time to buy a new engine

OK, I coming round to keeping my engine (anyway, I don't like spending money). However, I would like to fit a calorifier to provide hot water via the new engine. Can I run this from my existing engine? if so, what do I need for the engine attachments? if not, what are my alteratives available?

Do you have skin tank cooling at the moment? if so it should be possible.

I assume you are referring to a keel skin cooling. if so, yes

I'm not sure how this helps

Hi

If you look at the engine or a manual, you should find some blancked of hose conections.

Usually around the thermostat housing on top of the cylinder head.

They are the outlets that would feed a heater matrix if the engine was fitted in a cab.

An Isuzu 25 today would still be a 3 cylinder beast.

So are the Barrus shire 33 and 35, I think, (both Yanmar marinisations).

Or a Beta 28, (Kubota).

Nowt wrong with a 3 cylinder!

Agreed nowt wrong with a 3 cylinder, but some may not be available.

The current Isuzu 25 is actualy based on a Yanmar engine (and much smoother than the original Isuzu unit). My last conversation with Isuzu suggested they weren't marinising any more when the stock was gone.

The Barrus engines remain in the catalouge but have been unavailable for some time.

;) Hi

Yes they are cheap but also very reliable, our hire fleet of over twenty boats all have Isuzu fitted and get thrashed to death and we get very very few problems...

Just a quick question I think I dropped a very small nut in our intake on our izusu 42 but can't find I know izusu engines are pretty bomb proof do I need to worry or can this get in some where
