Adam
Hello, Does anybody know if the moorings at Boston on the Witham are 24/48 hour moorings, and if they are "all year" restrictions ? Also what are they like security wise for leaving a boat there, is it gated access and shared with long term moorers and are they floating pontoons? Thank you
pearley
Can recall what time limits and pretty sure we stayed longer than 48 hours last time we were there. They are gated, floating pontoons shared with long term moorers. The only water tap is near the gate so you may need a long hose or share your neighbours. There are more electricity outlets than long term moorers but you will need a MeterMacs account to use them. There can be quite a flow across the ends if the pontoons which can make reversing in interesting. If you look at the tide tables you may be able to pick a time when the tide is at highest when the river discharge is minimal.
Naughty Cal
Fairly certain they are 72 hours. If you require longer you can pay extra at the lock. They are shared with long term moorers. They are a friendly bunch though. Other option is the boat club opposite.
BoatinglifeupNorth
They are also not that long something like 40/50ft I know I couldn’t get the full length of my boat on. Not sure about the CRT moorings but the other moorings (motor yacht club / sailing club or boston gateway marina) are not floating pontoons and it's pretty common to see boats go under over winter with high river levels. BoatinglifeupNorth
Do the CaRT floating moorings get turned into CaRT winter permit moorings till March? so no 72 hr moorings? How long are you leaving the boat for? Maybe worth speaking to CaRT Moorings about availability.
