Tragic death in Aston lock Stone

I do not know the circumstances but tow boats are now in Aston Marina following an accident where a man died after falling into Aston lock.

This was reported on Facebook the other day, something about having to climb over the bottom gate to close it, but no real details, They also said someone else had a fall there a few weeks back

A lady fell in there end of May/beginning of June. Think there was a thread on here about her being rescued by a passing cyclist

From trying to make sense of  FB posts, which is not easy, people seem to be complaining that the lock balance beams are so high that once a gate is open, it's hard to climb over the beam onto the bridge to get to the other side. Some appear to crawl under them and presumably it's easy to slip. You could of course take another minute and walk round the top, but then any accident would be your own fault, not somebody else's, CRTs, I suppose. No details as to how the bloke actually died , it seems to have been a warning from Aston Marina.
