Has anyone got any experience of this fridge? We are on 12v and we are looking for a decent replacement and we have seen the cheaper alternatives on Amazon etc but know they aren't good for battery and we only have our domestic and starter and a solar panel so we want something decent that will last.

Do not buy an absorption fridge for a boat, the consumption will kill your batteries in a night.

Compressor fridges only.

I believe this is a compression fridge. I did read about absorption fridges on another post and that led me to realize why the cheaper ones were well, cheap! I guess there is a reason the Dometic Waeco ones are expensive! They seem to hold their money well, even second hand!

The spec says the Dometic CRP40 is a compression fridge..

I must admit it doesn't seem to be a model much gets posted about, though.

I managed to get it second hand although it's brand new in the packaging and it's never been installed I'm hoping to put it in later still expensive for what it is but fingers crossed.

I have a CRE , having had a CRX previously. I think the CRP has a 1

5m flexible tube between fridge and compressor,  so the compressor can be a bit remote
