Isuzu 55 but what base engine?

Afternoon all, does anyone know what the base engine is for this isuzu 55 , the only plates I can find are the one on top....

I understood that Isuzu were/are the worlds largest manufacturer of diesel engines. So it will be of their manufacture?

Or are you asking what "vehicles" the engine is/was used in?

If it was used in a vehicle then yes but I'd assume it was more of an industrial engine, possible used in FLTs and or gensets...

 

I have one with a probable head gasket failure, I'm looking for as much info as I can on the engine including manuals and parts...

I suspect the point is, yes it's an Isuzu engine but I bet Isuzu make more than one model of engine, so the OP is asking which Isuzu is it?

As already said the Isuzu 55 is based on the Isuzu 4LE1 engine. Which would have been used for various plant and industrial applications.
