Newly serviced webasto cutting out and gurgling.

Featured Posts

We have a 2 year old Collingwood with a webasto pressurised system running hot water and radiators. The system was stopping after 30 minutes. It was pulled out and serviced, refitted and is doing exactly the same. There is a gurgling sound that is quite clear.

The radiators have been bled numerous times. We are stuck on what the next step could be.

You have air trapped in a pipe from the heater and so the circulation is poor causing it to shut down on overheat. Find the high point in the pipework and vent the air from it by  lowering the pipe till the air gets to a junction that you can open up to let it out. Assuming it is all flexible pipe of course.

Following on from Tracy above - sometimes it can take quite a bit of effort (bleeding and repeating) to  clear an airlock. It may be air trapped int the radiators is often the cause. I assume the rads: are panel type and folks don't have the appropriate key. Sometimes the rads don't have a bleed screw....

Assuming the unit was taken off for servicing, was the top water pipe to the Webasto bled after it was reinstalled?

Loosen the jubilee clip slide the pipe off a little bit but not all the way, start the heater and then open up a small gap at the top of the pipe, between the pipe and heater outlet. It's not difficult to get the air out of the heater itself.

If Steve Wedgewood has serviced it and said its ok then its ok. The fault is elsewhere.

How long have you had it?

Do you know that it was working before this problem started?

What else was changed around the time the problem started?

I have seen references in documentation (can't remember where) to shutoff after 30 mins.  Do you have a programmer and know how it works?

Is it exactly 30 mins or approximately half an hour?
