I suppose they are pretty good if you like clubs and the probably mandatory work parties/duties. However, of the two sets of moorings, I would have chosen yours if the costs were OK. I suspect Fobney lock would have been the negative for me though.

You know, that huge, Heavey and slow to fill thing with downstream landing stage often submerged in winter and with a nasty bywash that pushes your bow off if not very careful, often used for swimming and drug taking by various youths in summer, next one down from Southcote from your moorings.

No direct experience but was socialising with a couple last week who moor there and they like it.

Yes the whole K&A river is not for inexperienced boater or canal boater.

I have been passing Fobney for years now & don't have a problem, worse thing is the low bridge as you come through the Oracle centre. 

anyway back to BIBC

I was thrown out of BIBC for not attending their stupid "welly throwing competition". 

 

I wanted a mooring and to go boating. Not be obliged to spend what meagre leisure time I had attending ever more ridiculous boat club social events.
