Trimming ballast

Featured Posts

You don't need a boat builder.  You can do it yourself, if you are fit enough, or a labourer would do the heavy work.

The art is to move ballast from the low side/end to the higher side/end. Do it a few pieces at a time, and stop when the boat is how you want it. You can always move a piece or two back.

Some degree of more or less permanent list is inevitable, and nearly all canal boats sit bow up.

Managed to trim the ballast port to starboard all is now level, still a problem bow to stern, water holding on gunnells approx 3 foot from stern, added 56lbs weights in engine room but still can't get it down more at the stern, had a stove and dinette fitted which caused the problem, before that it was ok

Have you removed any ballast from the front end?
