Pole & Hook Maintenance...

My boat pole was painted about ten years ago with the same Toplac used for the boat. Looks as good now as it did when it was done.  But then it lives inside the boat along the corridor.  Only used once, to push the boat over in a wide lock.

Sometime when I'm really bored and have no other work (!) I shall make myself a little device to paint my barge pole like a maypole with interleaved colour strips - in one pass.

Not if you get the screw threads in sync, and use a nice 2” roller, and...

I was thinking more in terms of ink jet technology. A set of cams to lift a "dot" brush, drop it on the pole in the right place, lift it again, dot it into a paint reservoir, and repeat, four times to give four colours at once.
