Yes, When We Were Younger, we had a dozen Christmas (1996-2009) afloat. (2002 with two boats and eleven to sit down for Xmas lunch). In 2005 we had eleven days to go from Braunston to Lapworth, with the associated car-shuffling. Just doing Napton and Hatton wouldn't have felt like we were going anywhere, so we set off via Rugby, Fradley, GreatHaywood , S+W, and up the 21 into Birmingham. That all went well, and Iain (steering in the pic) had joined us in Birmingham, so I thought that if we went via Salford J to Fazeley and back to Bordesley, we could be outside-in-the-sun winding locks, rather than inside emptying our drink supplies. So we did that (not a 100% popular idea, it must be admitted). Also we would complete the Staffordshire Ring, and even better, wind at Fazely from the Birmingham direction, which is the only time we have ever done that. 150mls and 128 locks, so says the database.

 

And I remember we had enough water at the time, so Iain just powered around and we headed back to Birmingham. As some of the links show, it was all before the 'glass wall of the housing development, of which I'm not a fan ... _sigh_  Anyway the weather was kind, and here's another pic of Fazeley Junction from Copperkins as we winded.
