  1. Thx for the offer but we wanting to stay at paddington basin on the 23rd cos its our wedding anniversary so not doing limehouse-brentford till a few days after that, it is our first trip out at limehouse and we both have vhf and a radio. Would be nice to go through with someone else though if anyone interested, most probably going to be tuesday 26th or somewhere around there.

    live aboard

An example for you, we have a 2000 watts honda genny, we start that and then plug into the socket on the boat, so its then running through the ring on the boat, everything then works on the boat but it wont run washing machines etc etc unless the genny has enough power, i have noticed sometimes that my laptop battery isnt charging when the washer is running but it is holding its power while in use(not some small laptop its more of a pc power as its taking 13amps) using seperate monitor as well. I suggest you try plug straight into the washer and try that, if that fails try something a little smaller if it works then its most likely your genny not powerful enough to run a washing machine. Our washer is one of them little camping twin tubs not a fullsize one.
  3. lol i get hspa now. getting about 4 meg download and 1.5 up...great for online gaming...
  4. We doing it late july, early august too, limehouse to brentford, currently at windsor, so not far away now.
  5. Oh and if you see a boat coming upto the bridge around the same time as you, you either wave them through and wait or do what they do which is stop and you do the same and both look at each other then both set off at the same time. lol
  6. If you intend going right put your right arm out...simples..works for me..the rest is if its a hire boat anything is possible..

Leeds is fine as long as no southern nancies are there...
  9. 50 yards after bray lock on the right(if ya going upstream), but its taken by us for next fews day lol...free, safe, quiet, genny going....so it was quiet.
  10. Well i would say if they make it that deep cos thats the skin, and more work would be involved if they had to raise it.
  11. Why does this topic keep going onto nav lights, who cares about nav lights...
  12. With vent holes being redrilled lower down we are now looking at about 6 inches, so concrete using fermiculite to keep it lightweight is the idea so far. The gas bottle bases are currently underwater by 2 inches, bringing them up 6 inches allows a hole to be drilled 5 inches above the waterline. Maybe macadam could be used, available from b an q? Its currently 17 inches because the holes were drilled at the top of the locker rather than near the bottom, when the gas bottles are lifted above the waterline the holes will be drilled 1 inch above the base, so need 6 inches to build up under the gas bottles that will be sealed to stop gas penetration.
  13. YEEEEESSSSS it has a aeriel socket, i have been to the three shop and bought one, £34.99 just for the dongle and using my original simcard, hauwei E367 hspa +, first time of trying it and it actually was slightly lower signal than my E122, so disappointing start but did work verygood but just lacked a little more for my online gaming, although 5 bars and perfect for everything else, will be doing more tests later and will post results, i have had a problem istalling the software but cos i using a router i can get around that, rather annoying when i have windows 7 and it struggling to install. It could be cos i have 64 bit home premium version.
  14. As its our boat in question there is a way around it, but this should have been done at manufacturing stage, 17 inches from the bottom is rather different to 1 inch, i know us men like to exagerate but thats a little over the top . Such a shame Gem Marine went out of business, otherwise this could have been a reason they might have been going to be.
  15. Hi everyone looking for advie about area around paddington basin, we wanting to be as close to london centre as possible and thought about staying at paddington basin, can anyone tell me if its chargable and wether its nice or would they try somewhere else, we are going coming down the thames from reading then at brentford onto the canal and round to limehouse just want a spot to stay for a trip into london for our wedding anniversary.
  16. Read the above replies. all you need is to be able to get internet access, ie through your dongle, i have a dongle and use skype everyday, microphone and speakers or even better a headset with mic attached, costs nothing to download and is free skype to skype, get your friends account names and ad them to yours and you can see them online when they are logged on.
  17. Sounds good to me, how about reading say 2-3 weeks from now if your available? We currently in cornwall in our motorhome and should be back at the boat tuesday and heading towards the thames so expect end of next week we will be around reading area.
