  1. How did you find that? All I got was 'No content to show'. Regards Ditchdabbler
  2. Thank you, that was very helpful. My little ship is about 15 years old and the calorifier the same age. As it is working ok at the moment I think I will leave it alone but if any work needs doing I might well fit an expansion vessel. The thread you linked to I think would be very useful to the OP. Regards Ditchdabbler
  3. I do not know, my previous boat only had a pump, accumulator and 3 bar prv as does my present boat. Neither had any problems. Perhaps you might be kind enough to explain the difference and why both should be fitted, I would be grateful. Regards Ditchdabbler
  4. Checking the boat listing shows that the '51423' part of the user name is the index number of a boat called Y NOT. It looks like the user has registered an email address with the forum so if the index numbers match up it might be worth emailing them via the forum. Regards Ditchdabbler
  5. There is this member but they have not been online for quite some time. http://www.canalworl...p?showuser=9896 Their boat is 'Y~NOT' Regards Ditchdabbler
  6. On the Forum Index Page, just above the list of active users there is a link called 'Today's active content'. Clicking on this will give you 'Active content in the past 24 hours' rather than just stuff since you last clicked 'View new content'. Regards Ditchdabbler
  7. Is an expansion vessel not the same as an accumulator? In post #9 they said they have only refilled the calorifier with cold water (since fitting the new prv) and it soon starts leaking. Admittedly I am assuming they have not yet turned the immersion heater back on yet. Regards Ditchdabbler
  8. With a calorifier full of cold water not expanding and a pump with a pressure of 30psi why would a 3 bar (43.511 psi) prv let water out the overflow unless it is faulty? Regards Ditchdabbler
  9. The OP said they have one, 2 litre set to 20 psi. Regards Ditchdabbler edited to add; also they have not yet heated the calorifier.
  10. If the PRV is letting water out of anywhere other than the overflow outlet then it must be faulty. Regards Ditchdabbler
  11. The" very few licence dodgers" are a minority and therefore must be protected and given special privileges. Any one seen my coat? Regards Ditchdabbler
  12. We removed the airbox on the Vetus of a friend of mine down the club only a short time ago. The box was empty apart from the small remains of a foam type filter. We could only assume that the foam had disintegrated and been sucked into the engine and hopefully made it out through the exhaust. Regards Ditchdabbler
  13. 'Tis true, there are more than our 'fair-share' of cowboys on the canal. Recommendation is the best form of defense against these rogues. Regards Ditchdabbler
  14. My 1996 boat has a wet locker at the bow and boats are still being built with wet lockers today. Because it's a cheap way of doing it I expect but it ought in my opinion be banned as a current practice in new boats. Regards Ditchdabbler
  15. Congrats, hope all goes well for you. Regards Ditchdabbler
  16. Is it common for ebay accounts to be hacked? I have been watching this item http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-VOLT-PORTABLE-DIESEL-TRANSFER-PUMP-12V-FUEL-/220809374939?ssPageName=ADME:B:WNASIF:GB:1123 which was about £150 but is now £1159! It is a buy-it-now not an auction. The seller is away for a while, have they been ''hacked'? Should I try to report my suspicions? Regards Ditchdabbler
  17. A local boat called Water Snail had a similar problem a while ago. The owner took the calorifier to our local blacksmiths called Charlie Head who trades in Tavistock Street, Bletchley, Milton Keynes and they brazed a plate over the hole. AFAIK it is still going strong. Charlie Heads will make pretty much anything out of metal and are renowned for their skills in welding aluminium. When I worked for Mission Motorcycles we took cracked crankcases and blocks to them and they always came through for us. Regards Ditchdabbler
  18. I agree, domestic basins connected to drains certainly need a water trap however, both my previous boat and my present boat have a 'straight-through' from the basin to skin fitting and neither have given problems in terms of nasty niffs. Regards Ditchdabbler
  19. The Delta is no longer in production, it ceased in February 1997 and was replaced by the PRM 150D Link to PRM website listing older models here: http://www.prm-marine.com/shop.php?sec=prod∏=28 Regards Ditchdabbler Edited to add link.
  20. According to the Newage/PRM website the Delta preceded the 150. Regards Ditchdabbler

  23. It will produce nasty fumes that you would not want to breath in, its is best disposed of at the council tip. Plenty available on ebay. Regards Ditchdabbler
  24. Are you sure? My Delta has a very small hole in the dipstick/filler cap as did the 150 in my previous boat. So small that i would think it easy to block with debris and if blocked might pressurise and cause seals to leak. Regards Ditchdabbler
