      Hi Gary,

way back when you were building La M I was watching avidly, and jealous. Now 10 years on and I think I might just have a chance to buy LaM. Can you tell me, was it built for a David Baker of the place, La Miellette in northern France? The reason I ask is I’m going to look at it very shortly but I think the agent may only give me a couple of hours over the weekend. I really want more time than that. So I suppose I’m wondering how I might be able to contact the owners. I’m not trying to do the agent out of his commission. I just want to know the untold non advertised low down. I know I’m grabbing at straws, absolutely any help or info would be great. I know I’m asking a lot of you, but I’ve got to try. I’ve read your comments about doing the wiring especially under the dash board, looks fantastic. Regards Jac

      Hi Jac,

Yes it was built for Dave and its La Miellette in Guernsey actually,  I don't have any direct contact details to him unfortunately but the boat was well used and enjoyed by Dave and his wife, he changed a few things over the years from it's original format the side hatches and dog box from memory and Keith who was involved in the build went to France to do this and service things regularly up to a year or so ago. If after you have looked you are still desperate for more info I can probably get some contact details for Dave from Keith.
Dave is very much a businessman and would probably have no problem talking to you even with the broker involved provide the broker will play ball, this boat is going to be way beyond the abilities of the average inland waterways broker.
The boat is a very high spec at the time even cutting edge, but it is worth remembering it was designed for France and Europe not for the U.K.
I don't have any detailed info on anything we built because the Administrators took the lot when Ledgard Bridge went tits up and we weren't interested in doing a Phoenix job to buy that and an empty order book back, but I designed and installed the electrics etc so I can remember a rough spec on most of that side.
There are some pictures here that I still have-

      Hi Gary,

I have an appointment to see the boat 10.30 Sunday 1st Sept.

I will be there on Saturday 31st. Yes it would be great to speak/see Dave, but if he’s in Guernsey he won’t want to travel that far I don’t think. If you or Keith want to tell him, he might choose to get in touch. Having said that is it safe to transmit personal info on here? It is so long since I used this site I just don’t remember how secure it is. I’ll leave the contact details to you and Keith.

Thanks for the photos they bring back so many memories, reminding me of how I drooled over it. I wish I’d kept them, I WILL keep these. If you can ever think of anything else to help get me on LaM I’ll thank you in anticipation. Also please give my thanks to Keith.

      Jac.

Ps I don’t suppose you might know a surveyor?
