  1. We timed our arrival for 5’ish and unplugged his pipe while we used the tap as he’d closed up for the day. There’s some nice moorings about 5 minutes further on with plenty of bins….so long as you use smallish bags
  2. Having just (yesterday) left the Bridgewater one thing I would say is, you have to up your game when spotting taps and services.
  3. I googled “SPA882 drive belt”. And there it was. PS there is a Dunlop version of the number, I should think that’d be a decent quality

Damn you autocorrect….. it should say counting

Punting the amount of fingers I’d say they must be pints at least
  6. If you’re planning on going via Keedby then no.
  7. You have to book during the winter season
  8. Thanks for that. I think I’m beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel now.
  9. If I understand you correctly then a shunt in the cable between the junction box and the first leisure battery (as in the first drawing) would work ?
  10. I’ve finally worked out how to draw so, The picture below shows what’s actually there if that’s any clearer, it just strikes me (probably wrongly) that if the shunt were placed between the junction box and the leisure battery then wouldn’t the starter be caught up in the readings?
  11. As I say, the picture is somewhat of a simplified version of reality. But I would have thought the starter battery earth should return directly to the starter battery and have no connection to the other batteries
  12. I’m planning on adding a shunt into my leisure bank wiring but looking at it the other day it seems to be set up as in the “picture” below. The starter battery (charged from its own alternator has a negative that’s connected to the leisure bank. Will this setup work ? Or should the negative return to the starter battery with no connection to the leisure bank? Please ignore the shunt, I just used the picture as it’s easier than trying to explain or draw my own picture
  13. I’ve got one of those thermostats and couldn’t work out how to control it, in the end I turned up a hub unit on fleabay for about £10 and it made it loads easier.
  14. At 55” the telly would have to mount on one side of the cabin or you wouldn’t be able to get past it which means you’ll be sat, at the most, 4 feet away from the screen! I don’t think I’d be able to focus on it that close up, it’d be like being on the front row of the picture house.

    Plate dimension

If they are the same as the A series ones, and from the picture they are, I found them on the minispares website at £1.24 each. BTW minispares are at the higher quality/price end of the market. You should also fit the seals on the bolts. Part numbers 12A1175 for the large one, 12A1176 for the small.
  16. We finally bit the bullet the day before that announcement and with the help of a couple of volunteers managed to climb the Bosley flight to join you in the clouds up here. It only took four hours but we’ve got some new territory to explore for a couple of months now
  17. Ahh, but there’s the problem you see. Our car is on the boat so it’s the wrong side of the gate to start with!!
  18. I wonder if we could claim a rebate from the CRT if the repairs take a while The only problem with that plan is I’d have to find somewhere to offload the car first!
  19. True but if we’re stuck here awhile it’ll be a bit expensive. We’ve been around here for a couple of weeks now as my other half has done a mischief to her back and she’s visiting the local NHS and witch doctors around here looking for a cure. There’s also a tap just north of Congleton with a winding hole just past it so that’s pretty easy, it’s just the cassettes that are a worry….at £2.50 a pop Heritage are also somewhat heavy on the wallet.
  20. That’s true. Moored at Congleton with the occasional trip to Kidsgrove for the services and shopping (Tesco & Lidl are closer there)
  21. We normally run for around 4 to 5 hours a day when we’re moving. This time of year it’s just run when we need to fill the batteries a little. When I put the first post up I’d had the engine running for a while to charge the domestics but as it’s now all but dark (and very rainy) and we’re planning on moving tomorrow I’ll try the testing tomorrow if that’s ok.
  22. Right. All I have to do now is figure out how to make my photo small enough to fit on here.
