  1. Also good mooring on the Thames just below Osney Bridge and above the lock but, I think, restricted to 24 hours.
  2. 7 days with no return for 2 months according to BW enforcement bloke.
  3. I think it's a good idea for cc'ers who cannot move because of stoppages and for those that would prefer not to move over the winter months. On the basis that they do not restrict visitor's moorings where there is a genuine need over the winter then great. I think BW should cash in and then they'll have more money to spend on the system and there will be a little less pressure to increase licence fees. It's a winner all round in my book.
  4. If you buy it before 01.01.10 you'll save £1,933,400.05!
  5. This biggest problem is that they have actually paid soeone to come up with drivvle like this. Surely a repaired gate or similar would be far more use?
  6. As I recall there are 3 things needed to create a contract - offer, acceptance and consideration. In this case there seems to have been offer and acceptance but no consideration (on the basis that the cheque had not arrived). All a bit sharp and a bit harsh but I guess that's the way it is. There are plenty more tubes in the sewer!
  7. How often is "regular tank blacking"?
  8. Hopefully. But only if they don't find using a computer too dangerous an activity......
  9. What a load of nonsense. There is absolutely no harm in a couple of drinks and some gentle boating. It's all part of the passtime. Inexperienced boaters pose a far greater risk than experienced boaters with a couple of beers inside them.
  10. I think this incident has been badly reported as it suggests that there is a limit when there isn't. One argument for not setting limits is that there is already legislation to rely on in the event of endangering or injuring others when under the influence.
  11. It's been done for years..... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Floating-Brothel-E...2268&sr=8-1 edited to sort link
  12. From today's paper. It must have been quite some mooring to resort to such protectionism... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...age-attack.html
  13. Correct. CC09 just lets you into the Cavalcade area. Mooring, if you're not in the Pool (allocated on an order of entry basis), is along Delamere Terrace or Paddington Basin. It's all in the bumph sent with the CC09 labels.
  14. Couldn't agree more. Here's the clip you were after and it's lucky there were no anti terroism laws in place when he was in opposition although a decent government wouldn't exploit them for its own purposes
